Now...Waterspouts over the atlantic waters this morning... ...Tornado watch issued for Martin...St. Lucie and okeechobee counties... The national weather service doppler radar continues to indicate rotating thunderstorms over the east central Florida atlantic waters this morning with threat of tornadic waterspouts continuing over the Marine waters through much of the day. Multiple special Marine warnings are in effect for these storms and gale warnings will be in effect across the offshore waters later this afternoon as a strong cold front approaches the area from the gulf of mexico and southwest winds increase to over 30 knots offshore tonight. Small craft operators May wish to postpone trips across the offshore waters until Marine conditions improve. A tornado watch has also been issued for Martin...Saint lucie and okeechobee counties through 1 pm this afternoon. Scattered rotating thunderstorms across south Florida are expected to lift toward lake okeechobee and areas south of fort drum and fort pierce by mid day. As a strong cold front moves through the eastern gulf of mexico later today...Instability and wind shear will spread north toward central Florida increasing the risk of severe weather further north. By late afternoon a squall line ahead of a cold front will bring a line of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds and even isolated tornadoes along bowing segments. Residents and visitors to the area should be prepared to take quick action and move to a substantial structure away from windows if warnings are issued for your area later today.
