Now...Widespread rain will continue moving northeast across northeast Georgia and the western carolinas through the mid day hours. The next large area of moderate to heavy rain has moved rapidly across Georgia and will cross the western carolinas into lunchtime. Locations under the heaviest rain will get from a quarter to a third of an inch of rainfall in an hour. South facing slopes from near clayton Georgia to tryon North Carolina could get a half inch or more in an hour.
