Now...An area of moderate rain will be moving across the delta...Southern sacramento valley...And northern san joaquin valley tonight. Shortly after midnight...The leading edge of the rain was near elk grove...And just west of stockton and modesto...And moving to the northeast at 20 to 25 mph. By 2 am...The rain should be moving into the motherlode...And into higher sierra elevations by 4 am. Rain should change to snow above the 4500 to 5000 foot elevations with a couple of inches of accumulation expected.
