Regional Weather Discussion...Rain... And isolated thunderstorms... Will increase late this evening over western parts of north Texas and parts of southwestern Oklahoma. The rain will mix with or change to snow in many of these areas by midnight. Radar at 11 pm indicated an increasing area of precipitation... Including A few thunderstorms... Spreading northeast from much of western north Texas. The leading edge at 11 pm was from near cheyenne... To frederick... To wichita falls. Temperatures in these areas generally were in the 30s to around 40 as of late evening... But were falling. So while many areas will start as rain... A changeover to sleet and snow is likely in most areas by 1 am. Increasing north winds May result in blowing and drifting of any accumulating snow late tonight over southwestern Oklahoma and western north Texas. As the precipitation continues to spread northeast and temperatures continue to fall... More of the precipitation will fall as snow. Although precipitation in central Oklahoma May begin as rain later tonight... The rain will change over to snow over most of the middle third of Oklahoma by early to mid morning Thursday. Strong north winds will likely LEAD to blowing snow and deteriorating travel conditions across many parts of the central third of Oklahoma beginning within a few hours of daybreak Thursday morning.
