Now...The short term forecast for northern cayuga, the eastern lake Ontario region. Most of jefferson county including The city of watertown will see cloudy skies with a few snow flurries through early evening. Over oswego and lewis counties, narrow bands of lake effect snow will continue with rates of one half to one inch per hour. This is not one, single, heavy band of snow that often hits the region, however, another 1 to 3 inches of new snow is possible between 4pm and 7pm. In addition, northwest winds will occasionally gust over 30 mph producing blowing and drifting snow. Travelers are urged to be prepared for rapidly changing road and visibility conditions, adjust your driving speed and take a little extra time get to your destinations.
