Now...At 535 pm...Lake effect snow showers were beginning to intensify across northern portions of onondaga...Madison...And western oneida counties. This developing band of snow will impact the immediate syracuse...Rome...And utica metro areas this evening as low level winds become more westerly. This band will also impact portions of the New York state thruway between weedsport and westmoreland as well as portions of interstate 81 between the onondaga oswego county line and south syracuse. Travel across the region May become difficult as this band continues to develop. Expect slippery roadways...Reduced visibilities...And periods of blowing and drifting snow.
