Now...The short term forecast for western New York. Wandering bands of lake effect snow off lake Ontario, will continue across the region as we move into the afternoon hours. Most of the snow activity should be confined to the niagara frontier counties. Even though snowfall totals of only a dusting to an inch are anticipated for most locations, the snow, coupled with the cold air temperatures, will combine to create slippery conditions on any untreated surfaces. Wind chill readings will be in the minus single digits, so dress warmly if you are out and about this afternoon.
