Regional Weather Discussion...A potent winter storm continues to unfold over Oklahoma and western north Texas this afternoon. Heavy snow will move east into parts of central and southern Oklahoma through this afternoon. At 3 pm... Moderate to heavy snow continued over portions of Oklahoma and north Texas. The heaviest snow extended from south central to central Oklahoma... Especially from duncan and lone grove to pauls valley... Norman... Shawnee... Chandler and stroud. Some mix with sleet or freezing rain May also be occurring in some locations. Snowfall rates of at Least one inch an hour will occur through mid afternoon with these heavier bands of snow. Blizzard conditions will exist as well... With north winds gusting over 50 mph reducing visibilities to just a few hundred feet at Times. The back edge of the snowfall continues to move east and extends from cherokee to frederick Oklahoma to seymour Texas. However... Strong north winds will continue through this evening... Keeping visibilities well below one mile. Conditions on area roadways will continue to be hazardous. Caution is advised this afternoon and this evening if travel is necessary.
