Now...Motorists will encounter areas of dense fog this morning mainly on the higher terrain around spokane and coeur d'alene above 2000 feet elevation. This includes most of kootenai county as well as the west plains and south hill areas in spokane county. Also...Pockets of dense fog will persist in the valleys north of the Columbia Basin through the morning. Travelers should allow extra time for travel this morning and prepare for rapidly reduced visibilities.
