Now...Through late afternoon...Widespread rain, moderate to heavy at Times, will persist across deep south Texas. Heaviest rains will continue over portions of willacy and cameron counties. Rainfall rates will be near a tenth to a quarter of an inch per hour, with isolated heavier amounts. The moderate to heavy rain will cause ponding of water on roadways and lowly lying, poor drainage areas. Motorists are urged to drive with extra caution over wet roadways. Afternoon temperatures will hover in the low to mid 40s.
