Now...Numerous to widespread showers will move east at 30 to 35 mph across southwest Mississippi...South central Louisiana...And western portions of southeast Louisiana through 8 am. The heaviest rain...And possibly an isolated thunderstorm or two...Will move across southwest and south central Mississippi where rainfall rates will reach near one quarter inch per hour and locally higher. The rain will spread east across the baton rouge metropolitan area along with liberty and mccomb Mississippi through 7 am...And across tylertown...Franklinton...Hammond...And donaldsonville between 7 and 8 am. The rain is expected to begin in the western and northern portions of metropolitan new orleans between 8 and 9 am. Rain will start out light...Then become moderate to briefly heavy an hour for an hour or two after the rain begins.
