Now...A band of showers is currently stretching from sierra county southward through the foothills of el dorado...Amador and calaveras counties and into the northern san joaquin valley and eastern stanislaus county. Spotter reports indicate that rain is turning to sleet at 3800 feet or near pollock pines on highway 50. The sleet turns to snow near 4800 feet or above kyburz on highway 50...Or just below blue canyon on interstate 80. Some areas of moderate to heavy precipitation May be encountered. This band of showers is moving eastward and should move out of the area by 2:00 pm. Expect isolated showers through sunset in the wake of this system.
