Now...Scattered showers will continue to slide down into the piedmont and foothill regions of northern Virginia...North central Maryland and the West Virginia panhandle into the early afternoon hours. Some of the heavier activity stretches across the Potomac River valley from the West Virginia panhandle...Down into the Washington metro area. Fairly dry conditions at Near the surface will keep much of this activity from reaching the ground...Though embedded heavier activity will produce at Least light rain for areas along the highway 29 corridor...And down into the i-95 corridor of north central Virginia. Temperatures will peak into the upper 40s and lower 50s this afternoon. This activity will move steadily southeastward...Along with gusty winds of 20 to 30 mph this afternoon. Only a trace to a few hundredths of an inch of rain expected through 2 pm.
