Regional Weather Discussion...Snow will taper off or end by 8 pm over most of the southwestern half of Oklahoma. Radar at 625 pm indicated the back edge of the heavier and steadier snow from near gage... To weatherford... To lawton... To waurika... To Marietta. As the precipitation area continues moving northeast... Snow will taper off by 8 pm in the woodward... Watonga... Duncan... And ardmore areas as well as south and west sides of the Oklahoma city area. Farther north and east... Periods of snow will continue through 8 pm across much of the northeastern half of Oklahoma before tapering off between 8 pm and midnight in most areas. Precipitation May begin as light rain or a rain and snow mix... Especially in southeastern Oklahoma... But in most areas it will change to nearly all snow within an hour or so after it starts. The snow will be light in most areas... Resulting in only an inch or less of accumulation mainly on grassy areas. But there will be relatively localized areas of heavier snow... In which visibility reductions will be seen and 1 to 2 inches May accumulate fairly quickly. Accumulations will be mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces... But some bridges and overpasses May become slick. Some accumulations also May occur on secondary roads... As has been reported in carnegie and in blanchard early this evening. Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.
