Now...A frontal boundary will continue to push northeast across most of southern Illinois and west Kentucky through 3 am. Southeast winds will become southwesterly and gust up to 40 mph at Times behind the front. Temperatures in the 50s will quickly drop into the mid and upper 40s behind the front...But the arctic air is not expected until around daybreak. A brief period of heavy rainfall can also be expected with the frontal passage. Otherwise light to moderate rainfall will continue to stream northwest across most of the quad state area.
