Now...The short term forecast for the niagara frontier. Bands of lake effect snow will continue into early afternoon. Most of the snow will be light accumulating just a couple of tenths to a half an inch. A heavier snow band 1 to 3 miles wide will reach from buffalo to the east aurora area which could produce an additional inch through noon. Northwest winds gusting to near 30 mph will create some blowing and drifting especially in open areas. Untreated roads will be snow covered and very slippery so motorists should allow extra time to reach their destinations.
