Now...The short term forecast for the eastern lake Ontario region. Lake effect snow showers will continue across the region through the overnight hours. Snowfall rates of one half to one inch per hour will be possible where the heaviest activity persists. Be on the alert for snow covered roads and slippery conditions... Especially 0n any untreated surfaces. West winds gusting to 35 mph will also produce blowing and drifting snow...Especially in open areas. Untreated roads will be snow covered and very slick. Drive with caution and allow extra time to reach your destination if traveling overnight.
