Regional Weather Discussion...A potent winter storm continues to affect Oklahoma early this evening. Snow gradually ending from the west this evening. At 645 pm... Light to moderate snow continued over the central third of Oklahoma. Snowfall rates of one inch per hour or less will continue early this evening. Blizzard conditions will continue as well... With north winds gusting over 40 mph reducing visibilities to just a few hundred feet at Times. The blowing snow will also continue to cause drifts of several feet across the area which will cause some roads to drift shut. The back edge of the snowfall continues to move east and extends from cherokee to el reno and waurika Oklahoma. However... The strong north winds will continue through this evening... Causing blowing and drifting of snow and continue to reduce visibilities for a few hours after the snow ends. Conditions on area roadways will likely remain hazardous overnight. Caution is advised if travel is necessary.
