Now...Through 3 pm...A large area of moderate rain will persist across the much of the coastal bend and adjacent coastal waters. The more continuous rain will generally remain over refugio and aransas counties...With more patchy and light rain elsewhere. Stronger showers over the gulf waters will provide heavy rain and a few lightning strikes. Some of these heavier rains will spread across the barrier islands and into coastal counties. Rainfall totals through 3 pm ranging from 1/4 to 1 inch are likely near the coast with locally higher amounts possible. Rainfall totals around 1/4 inch or less will be more common further inland.
