Regional Weather Discussion...Early this morning... A ridge of high pressure at The surface extended across the plains states from Canada to Texas. The high pressure was associated with very cold temperatures over the region this morning... With sub-zero readings reaching as far south as northern Kansas. Meanwhile... In Oklahoma and north Texas... Temperatures ranged from the mid teens in northern Oklahoma...To near 20 in central Oklahoma... And the mid and upper 20s from wichita falls toward durant. Winds were from the north averaging 10 to 20 mph. Wind chill temperatures will be a concern for anyone spending more than a short time outdoors. This is especially true from interstate 40 northward to the Kansas border. Wind chill temperatures in this region were in the single digits above zero... With a few locations slipping below zero. Farther south... Wind chills will range from 10 to 20 from western north Texas into southeast Oklahoma. Be sure to dress for the conditions...And wear several loose fitting layers of clothing... Including Hats and gloves.
