Now...The short term forecast for the western southern tier. Narrow bands of lake effect snow will continue early this morning. Snowfall rates up to one half inch per hour will be possible in the heaviest and most persistent lake bands. Northwest winds gusting to 35 mph will also produce blowing and drifting snow...Especially in open areas. Untreated roads will be snow covered and very slick. Drive with caution and allow extra time to reach your destination if traveling early this morning.
