Now...The short term forecast for the niagara frontier. Narrow bands of lake effect snow will continue through overnight hours. One lake band will focus from niagara falls through the northeast metro buffalo suburbs into southwest genesee and northwest Wyoming counties through at Least 3 am. Snowfall rates within the heaviest and most persist lake bands could approach one inch per hour. Northwest winds gusting to 35 mph will also produce blowing and drifting snow...Especially in open areas. Untreated roads will be snow covered and very slick. Drive with caution and allow extra time to reach your destination if traveling overnight.
