Now...Blizzard warning in effect through tonight... Northwest winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 mph will gradually diminish to 15 to25 mph across the warned area tonight producing wind chill readings of minus 15. Radar continues to indicate bands of light to moderate snow rotating quickly south and west producing areas of 1/8 to 1/4 of a mile visibility. This snow will most likely affect areas along and north of Nebraska highway 2. These bands of snow are expected to continue moving south and west tonight and gradually weaken. No travel is advised in rural areas as some roads are blocked and road crews have suspended operations for the night. This snow was associated with a large intense storm system centered over the upper midwest. This storm will affect the central and northern plains throughout the night and into Saturday morning as it drifts slowly east.
