Now...Light snow has been reported early this morning throughout southeast Missouri...From ellsinore to dexter to cape girardeau. Through 9 am...The areas of light snow will spread east and north into the purchase area of west Kentucky and much of southern Illinois...Generally to the west of interstates 57 and 24. A half inch of snow will be possible to the west of a poplar bluff to greenville Missouri line...Where more persistent and heavier snow is expected. Elsewhere...A light dusting will be possible in grassy areas. In addition...Strong southwest winds will gust up to 40 mph...Which will bring sub-freezing air quickly northeast across the region.
