Now...Through 3 pm...Numerous showers and scattered thunderstorms will continue to develop and move northeast at 20 mph across the area. The majority of the thunderstorms will be in band from port arthur to lake charles to oakdale to Marksville. Occasional lightning and heavy rainfall with rates between 1 and 1 1/2 inches per hour will be possible with these storms. The high rainfall rates will cause ponding of water on roadways and low lying areas.
