Now...Light snow will continue through the early afternoon hours...And then begin to diminish in coverage and intensity. Additional snow accumulations are expected to remain generally less than an inch. In addition to the light snow...Northwest winds will continue to strengthen with some gusts to 40 to 45 mph possible by midday. The combination of the recent fallen snow and these wind gusts will produce some blowing and drifting snow and reduced visibilities. Temperatures will also begin to drop this afternoon as colder air pushes into northern Illinois. The combination of the drifting snow and falling temperatures will likely produce some slick spots on roads today...And motorists are urged to exercise caution today.
