Now...Light to occasionally moderate snow will affect north central and northeast Illinois this morning. Visibilities will drop below a mile at Times with the heavier snow showers. An inch or two of snow will accumulate between 8 am and noon today across much of the chicago metropolitan area as well as north central Illinois. Temperatures well below freezing will allow snow to accumulate on roads...With untreated roadways becoming snow covered and very hazardous. Persons traveling this morning should be prepared to encounter snow covered roadways and leave extra time to get to your intended destination.
