Now...A band of snow will continue this evening over the northern sierra from lake tahoe northward to around highway 70 and in western Nevada from the reno and carson city area northward to pyramid lake. Heaviest snowfall will occur from sierra valley to hallelujah Junction and pyramid lake. Widespread accumulations up to 2 inches with locally higher amounts can be expected in these areas. Elsewhere light snow will result in a dusting up to an inch of snowfall accumulation. Roads throughout the area are going to be slick and hazardous tonight. Motorists can also expect periods of poor visibility along highway 395 between reno and susanville as well as all area passes.
